STRASBOURG: COE SECRETARY-GENERAL ON TALKS WITH CROATIAN PM

STRASBOURG, Jan 14 (Hina) - The Croatian Permanent Mission to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg said in a statement that CoE Secretary-General Walter Schwimmer on Wednesday informed the CoE committee of ministerial deputies of his talks with Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic.#L# Schwimmer described the talks as very positive and constructive. He particularly praised the Croatian government's measures aimed at improving the position of ethnic minorities. Croatia stressed its readiness to cooperate with the Council of Europe. The CoE official expressed the council's support for Croatia's plans to continue reforms. The meeting was also attended by Croatia's permanent representative to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Neven Madey who informed the ministerial deputies of the new Croatian government's priorities on the foreign political front.
