ZAGREB, March 23
(Hina) - Amidst media speculation about
possibilities for Croatian National Bank Governor Zeljko Rohatinski's
engagement in the political life of the country, the central bank
issued a statement on Wednesday recalling that already in January
Governor Rohatinski stated that he had no political ambitions and that
he did not want to run in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
Following the latest media speculation about the governor's possible political engagement, we find it necessary to recall that this January Governor Rohatinski had clearly stated that he did not intend to be engaged in any way in the forthcoming parliamentary elections, reads the brief statement from the central bank.
