The head of the Montenegrin chamber of commerce, Zeljko Baltic, said that his country's Gross Domestic Product went up 0.5 percent on the year to EUR 3.3 billion in 2010, adding that its growth would continue in 2011.
As much as 90 percent of the Montenegrin economy has been privatised, and in 2010 foreign investments totalled some EUR 650 million. Investors come from 112 countries and no country has a prevailing role.
The key economic branch is tourism, and last year 1.26 million tourists visited Montenegro which collected revenues of EUR 610 million from the tourist trade, Baltic said.
According to statistics released by the Croatian National Bank, Croatia invested EUR 37.1 million in Montenegro from 1993 to 2010.
Croatia's exports to this neighbour totalled EUR 81.4 million, and imports were EUR 2.7 million in 2010.
