SARAJEVO, Dec 6 (Hina) - The European Union High Representative for theCommon Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana, on Tuesday calledon the authorities of Bosnia-Herzegovina to take seriously the comingnegotiation on a
Stabilisation and Associations Agreement (SAA) andtake all measures so as to implement the necessary reforms.
SARAJEVO, Dec 6 (Hina) - The European Union High Representative
for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana, on Tuesday called on
the authorities of Bosnia-Herzegovina to take seriously the coming negotiation
on a Stabilisation and Associations Agreement (SAA) and take all measures so
as to implement the necessary reforms. Solana told reporters in
Sarajevo that Brussels had already shown readiness to cooperate with Bosnia,
adding that it was now up to Bosnia to assume its share of the responsibility
and meet conditions.
One of the conditions that must be met is the establishment of a
different internal organisation because the existing "Dayton" organisation
makes Bosnia a complicated country hard to manage, Solana said.
He stressed the importance of full cooperation with the International
Criminal tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, namely the extradition of Radovan
Karadzic and Ratko Mladic, as a condition for Bosnia's drawing closer to the
European Union.
