ZAGREB, Nov 17 (Hina) - The association of refugees from the Bosnian part of the Sava river basin insist on the revision of the Dayton peace accords and on the establishment of a new constitutional arrangement of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Representatives of the association held a news conference in Zagreb on Thursday saying that Bosnia should be arranged into an integral, tolerant and fair democracy without entities. They propose the cantonal principle for the internal organisation of the country, with cantons having a high degree of economic and cultural autonomy and with all the three constituent peoples enjoying equal status.

The officials of the association, which represents mainly Croats from northern Bosnia, also criticised the Dayton peace accords as being unfair. The deal established an asymmetrical and non-functioning state consisting of two entities, they told the conference.

In Dayton, the 10th anniversary of the peace accords, which helped to stop the war in Bosnia, is being marked on Thursday and Friday.

However, over recent months it has been stressed that the agreement should be upgraded so as to enable Bosnia-Herzegovina to function more efficiently.

Lately, leaders of major Bosnian parties are holding meetings to discuss this topic. Changes to the country's constitution have been drawn up by international diplomats who included suggestions of local politicians into the new plan.
