Brazauskas told the press his country was willing to help the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration because the Lithuanian government had good experts who maintained excellent contacts with the EU and the European Commission. He added Lithuania was willing to help Croatia in every possible way.
Sanader said Croatia was interested in Lithuania's experience from EU entry negotiations and expected cooperation because it was important to hear how countries that joined the EU last year had led the negotiations.
He said Lithuania had supported Croatia on its path to the EU from the start and thanked Brazauskas for the support.
The two prime ministers were agreed that Croatian-Lithuanian political relations were very good, but that economic cooperation was not satisfactory.
Sanader said they agreed to intensify economic cooperation and that he invited Brazauskas to visit Croatia with a delegation of business people.
Sanader added Croatia wished to initiate the completion of some agreements, notably on the promotion and protection of investments and on cultural cooperation.
Earlier today, the Croatian PM met Lithuanian Parliament Speaker Arturas Paulauskas. In the afternoon he is scheduled to visit the Vilnius University.
