ZADAR, Oct 21 (Hina) - The president of the American Chamber of
Commerce in Croatia, Mark Gero, US Ambassador to Croatia Ralph Frank and
Canadian Ambassador Stefanie Beck Galvani on Friday handed a USD60,500 check to
vice president of the Croatian Mine Action Centre Mirko Ivanusic.
The check was presented in Bastica village in the hinterland of the central
Adriatic town of Zadar.
The money was raised during last year's humanitarian event called "The
Night of 1,000 Dinners", organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in
Croatia. The raised funds were doubled by the government's of the United States
and Canada.
The Croatian Mine Action Centre will use the funds to remove mines from
25,297 square metres of agricultural land in Bastica.
