Margetic told the press he would sue the government because it refused to finance the defence of journalists accused by the Hague tribunal.
The Justice Ministry said legal and financial assistance was provided only for Hague tribunal indictees accused as veterans.
Margetic said he was continuing with the hunger strike he began 12 days ago. He added he had lost nine kilos and would soon need to be hospitalised.
The Hague tribunal on April 26 indicted Margetic and Hrvatsko Slovo publisher Stjepan Seselj for contempt of court after they revealed the identity and testimony of a protected witness at the Tihomir Blaskic trial in 1997.
Margetic said today he was in possession of new, potentially acquitting evidence according to which the tribunal itself revealed the identity of the witness, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, in two documents published on the tribunal's website.
The Hague tribunal indicted another two Croats for contempt for court -- Ivica Marijacic and Markica Rebic, editor in chief and correspondent of Hrvatski List respectively, for revealing the identity and testimony of another protected witness at the Blaskic trial.
