Croatia was represented by Justice Minister Skare Ozbolt and her special advisor, Professor Zeljko Horvatic.
The main items on the agenda of the three-day ministerial meeting were priorities of the European bloc in the justice system when Austria and then Finland take over presidency of the EU.
According to the press release, participants in the Salzburg meeting agreed on priorities in cooperation between EU members and aspirants for EU membership in the fields of prevention of terrorism, further enlargement of the bloc, and simplification of investigative procedure as well as in the exchange of electronic data on final court rulings. They also discussed the suggestion made by Austria and Finland that convicts should be transferred to countries whose citizens they are for serving their sentences.
The press release reads, that justice ministers of Austria and Slovenia expressed firm support to unconditional and immediate start of Croatia's accession negotiations with the EU, and other participants agreed.
