The minister informed the World Bank official of the results of the Croatian education reform and a guidebook for the Croatian National Education Standard, which has been translated into English and which has already drawn very positive reactions from several European ministers.
Primorac and his guest also discussed the measures which the ministry has been taking with the aim of implementing a USD85 million World Bank loan intended for the improvement of the education system in Croatia.
Katsu said he was satisfied with the ministry's results and added that the World Bank would next year start financially assisting the implementation of a plan of development of the education system covering the period from 2005 to 2010.
The two officials also discussed preparations for an international conference on tertiary education, to be held in Dubrovnik on October 2-4. The conference is organised by the World Bank in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport and Zagreb University.
The World Bank official on Thursday met Croatia's Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development Minister Bozidar Kalmeta.
