ZAGREB, Aug 31 (Hina) - Croatian Assistant Foreign Minister Drazen Margeta has again talked to Indonesia's Ambassador to Croatia, Sappartini Singgih Kunijoro-Jakti, about the Croatian merchant ship Mirna, which has been detained in the Indonesian port city of Surabaya, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said in a statement on Wednesday.

Margeta expressed satisfaction with intensified efforts on Indonesia's part in solving the problem, but nevertheless requested Indonesia to speed up the process of release of the ship and its crew. He also asked for the Indonesian military to leave the Croatian vessel and make it possible for the ship and the crew to leave the port of Surabaya as soon as possible, the statement said.

The Mirna, owned by the Rijeka based Losinjska Plovidba shipping company, was impounded by Indonesian authorities last Tuesday and detained in the port of Surabaya. All 25 members of the crew were also detained.

Since August 2004 the ship has been embroiled in a legal battle with Indonesian authorities, who claim that it does not have proper documents.

Indonesia had initially requested a million US dollars as security for the free departure of the ship, but on Monday it accepted a guarantee from Losinjska Plovidba and its insurance company for the ship's release.
