ZAGREB, Aug 25 (Hina) - The Croatian Ambassador to Indonesia, Aleksandar Broz, in Jakarta on Thursday informed in detail the Indonesian Parliament's Commission on Foreign Affairs about the events and the standpoint of his country regarding the impoundment of a Croatian ship in Indonesia, the Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry said in a statement.

This is part of efforts the Croatian Government is making to solve the case of the ship Mirna which, after a year-long legal battle with the Indonesian authorities over the alleged illegal transport of goods, was impounded on Tuesday and its 25-member crew detained after the Indonesian navy stormed the ship.

At a meeting, which was also attended by the attorney of the ship and the Indonesian representative of the "Losinjska plovidba" shipping company from Rijeka, which owns the ship, decisions were made as to what steps would the Commission take regarding the bodies operating within its jurisdiction, the statement said.

According to the Croatian Foreign Ministry's statement, the Commission expressed regret about the case and hope that the problems would be solved with its help.

Ambassador Broz also held talks with Indonesian Foreign Minister Hassan Wirayud about options for the temporary release of the ship, the statement said.
