"Croatia and Indonesia are members of the International Maritime Organisation and have ratified most of international maritime conventions. We believe that the conduct of the Indonesian Navy is inappropriate and violent and that it breaches the basic principles of international maritime conventions and other regulations on freedom of navigation," reads the letter.
Minister Kalmeta requested his Indonesian counterpart to contact relevant bodies of authority and see that the case is solved.
Kalmeta sent copies of his letter also to the secretary-general of the International Maritime Organisation, the International Labour Organisation, and the International Transport Workers' Federation.
