Ljubica Lalic of the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) and Nenad Stazic of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) were against the adopted conclusion, while Croatian People's Party (HNS) member Jozo Rados did not take part in the vote, dissatisfied with the fact that the members of the commission making up the parliamentary majority appeared at the session with a new draft conclusion despite an agreement that previously presented proposals would be voted on today without debate.
Lalic and Stazic said they would issue a separate opinion that would state that the commission was unable to establish that deals between the ministry and companies owned by Cacic involved favouritism.
They warned, however, that the duality of Cacic's position allowed suspicion of favouritism, which was why the commission would suggest that the law on the prevention of conflict of interest be amended to ban companies owned by state officials from doing business with state-owned companies and state institutions.
As regards similar accusations against former parliament vice-president Zlatko Tomcic, the commission earlier concluded that witness statements and available documents were inconclusive.
