On Friday evening, two of eight Hungarian en route for the Croatian island of Brac crashed in a larger area of the Croatian National Park 'Plitvice Lakes' when they encountered dense fog and unfavourable weather conditions. Four people, two on board one plane and two on board the other plane, died in the accidents.
Vodanovic said that the Hungarians who travelled aboard planes that made emergency landings in Zadar and Drnis can leave Croatia, but the planes will stay until all the necessary documentation is obtained.
Vodanovic will also propose to Croatian Transport Minsiter Bozidar Kalment to set up a commission for establishing causes of the crashes of the other two planes. One of those paircraft hit the Velika Lasina Hill and the other Medvedjak Ostri Hill in the area of Plitivice Lakes on Friday evening.
The duty of the commission will be to collect evidence, gather documentation, find records of talks between the two pilots and air control authorities in Croatia and process weather reports covering the period of the flights. After that the commission's reports will be sent to the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, the two planes' owners, and air traffic department of the Transport Ministry.
