ZAGREB, July 26 (Hina) - As of Tuesday Croatia's scientific and
academic communities are fully integrated into the European Union's science
system following Monday's final talks on admission criteria for the EU's 6th
framework program, the Croatian Science, Education and Sports Ministry said in
a statement on Tuesday. Croatian Science Minister Dragan Primorac on
Monday informed a European commissioner of Croatia's final decision to sign an
agreement on science with the European Commission. The official signing of the
agreement is scheduled for late September, and Croatia is expected to make a
payment into the EU's joint fund next year.
Although the agreement has not been officially signed, officials with
the Science Ministry say that Croatian scientists can already participate in
all ongoing invitations to nominate projects, which makes them fully integrated
into the EU's science system.
