After the opening, Vukelic and municipal head Zeljko Baradic signed a contract under which Vukelic's ministry will donate 1.8 million kuna to the Stankovci municipality to finance the infrastructure in the zone.
At the opening ceremony, the minister said investing in enterprise was one of the government's priorities.
He said 100 million kuna would be donated this year to cities and municipalities for the building of similar industrial and business zones.
Vukelic added the zone in Stankovci was very promising because of the vicinity of the highway.
He said special regulations would be adopted to accelerate investing in such projects.
Municipal head Baradic said there already existed 45 letters of intent for investing in the Stankovci zone. He added Italian entrepreneurs would start building a concrete factory in September and that the factory would employ about 50 people.
The Stankovci industrial and business zone covers 28 hectares and might be enlarged to 200.
