The Croatian delegation and the Palestinian Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry agreed on cooperation and discussed possible joint projects for which they intend to seek EU assistance.
The delegation also met Palestinian Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Labadi, Economy Minister Mazen T. Sinokrot and the Presidency of the Ramallah Chamber of Industry, the HGK said in a statement on Friday.
The delegation visited the Israeli Institute for Export and Development, where it reached agreement with its hosts on the exchange of experience in projects promoting export, the development of small and medium-sized businesses and in finding Israeli companies wishing to cooperate with Croatian companies.
Accompanied by Croatian Ambassador to Israel Ivan Del Vechio, the HGK delegation met Israeli Ambassador to Croatia Schmuel Meirom and Talya Lador-Fresher, head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry's department for economic affairs, with whom they discussed general investment issues. The Israeli ambassador said his country was interested in investments in the area of health insurance and Internet technology.
The deputy head of the research department of the Israeli technology institute TEHNION, Moshe Eisenberg, expressed readiness to cooperate with Croatian scientists and business people to increase economic development.
The Croatian delegation pledged to see that the ports of Rijeka and Haifa signed an agreement on cooperation as soon as possible.
