Seventy-eight per cent of them said their turnover in 2004 was better than in 2003, while 69 per cent said they expected a considerable improvement for this year as well. Only three per cent expect 2005 to be poorer than last year.
Seventy-four percent of Austrian entrepreneurs see red tape as the biggest obstacle to doing business in Croatia. Sixty-seven per cent are dissatisfied with the existing legal system, while 58 per cent are dissatisfied with corruption.
Austrian entrepreneurs believe Croatia's biggest advantages are its geographic position, good workers, the developing economy and favourable ecological situation.
Although the majority of entrepreneurs see Croatia in the European Union in the next two to five years, 22 per cent expect business conditions to deteriorate in the long term.
The GfK survey covered 70 of the 300 Austrian entrepreneurs currently operating in Croatia.
