Agreements and promises must be honoured and this especially refers to Bulgaria and Romania which have already completed negotiations with the EU, Fischer said in an interview for the Austrian news agency APA on Sunday, adding that a decision on the two countries' admission date had to be made now.
Speaking about Croatia, Fischer reiterated that the start of the country's talks with the EU depended on whether full cooperation had been established with the Hague war crimes tribunal.
Austria will take over the presidency of the EU on January 1 next year.
