Blic said that members of the unit which had been under the control of the Serbian Interior Ministry State Security Service had recently been living in Sid.
According to Blic, the video could be rented only by a limited number of people close to the unit's former members.
The chief liaison man between the Scorpions and the State Security Service, which at that time was headed by Jovica Stanisic, who has been indicted by the Hague war crimes tribunal, was a member of the Serbian Interior Ministry, Milan Milovanovic aka Mrgud, said Blic.
Last year Milovanovic testified against ex-Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic before the Hague tribunal, Blic wrote, announcing for tomorrow an interview with Jovan Miril, the man whom the Scorpions threatened because the video ended up in the hands of the Hague tribunal's Prosecution and the Special War Crimes Prosecution in Belgrade.
The tape provided the basis for proceedings against seven Scorpion members, four of whom have been arrested.
Belgrade's dailies today identified the Orthodox priest who blessed the unit members before their departure for Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1995. He was born Vidoslav Maric and goes under the name father Gavrilo.
The video was first shown during the Milosevic trial and subsequently on TV stations in Serbia.
The media in Belgrade said that most of those arrested had lived near Vinkovci in eastern Croatia until the mid-1990s.
