ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - The Secretary-General of the Japanese Government and Minister for Gender Equality, Hiroyuki Hosoda, and Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor stated in Tokyo on Monday that Japanese-Croatian relations were good and that they were constantly improving.

Kosor, who is also Family and War Veterans' Affairs Minister, was at the helm of Croatia's delegation at the EXPO 2005, the first world exhibition in this century, which is being held in the Japanese city of Aichi.

According to a press release from the Croatian Government's public relations office, Kosor thanked the Japanese government for the assistance Tokyo had offered Croatia during the Homeland Defence War, in solving problems related to refugees and displaced persons, as well as in the reconstruction of the country.

Kosor conveyed Prime Minister Ivo Sanader's invitation to his Japanese counterpart Junichiro Koizumi to visit Croatia and voiced hope that Croatia's participation in the world exhibition would contribute to the promotion of bilateral relations.

The Japan Times paper reported that the Croatian pavilion, with the theme 'A Drop of Water, a Grain of Salt', had drawn many Japanese visitors. The Croatian pavilion has been chosen one of the six most interesting topical pavilions out of 124 pavilions.

The Croatian National Day at the exhibition will be held on Tuesday, 12 April.
