"Kosovo's future lies in its independence and the government and people of Kosovo must do their utmost to implement the standards which the international community insists on," Moisiu said.
Kosumi said he was confident that talks on Kosovo's final status would start this year. He reiterated that most Albanians believed that Kosovo should become a sovereign and independent state.
The media in Tirana reported that Kosumi stressed the role of the Albanian president in preserving stability in the region and called on Albania to continue supporting Kosovo.
