ZAGREB, March 31 (Hina) - Most opposition parties in the Croatian parliament described as unnecessary today's discussion on a report on the activities of Croatian Radio and Television (HRT), drawn up by an inspection team, and expressed concern that the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) had ordered the inspection to get a grip over the public television network because it was dissatisfied with its work.

The findings of the inspection show that there were no major breaches of labour rights.

Opposition MPs said that it was of minor importance to discuss individual cases of violation of labour legislation and ongoing court proceedings related to such cases, while some said that the parliamentary discussion on the issue was an attempt by the HDZ to blackmail the HRT.

The HDZ club did not take part in the debate.

The Sabor wrapped up today's session with a debate about the SDP-sponsored draft amendments to the Conflict of Interest Act.

The Social Democratic Party proposes that public officials should declare not only their assets but also the way how they have acquired their property.

The parliament resumes its session on Friday morning.
