The subcommittee asked the director of Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) to ensure a longer duration of HRT programmes for Diaspora Croats.
It also criticised plans to introduce the subject called 'Bunjevacki language' in local primary schools in Vojvodina, and urged relevant bodies of Serbia-Montenegro to ratify as soon as possible a bilateral agreement on the reciprocal protection of minorities. The treaty was recently ratified by the Croatian parliament.
Some members of the subcommittee, who are members of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), believe that it is more important to determine the number of ethnic Croats who fled Serbia-Montenegro and those who were killed there.
That is why the subcommittee asked the OSCE and the Croatian office for refugees and displaced persons to determine the exact number of ethnic Croat refugees from Serbia-Montenegro.
