BELGRADE/BANJA LUKA, March 13 (Hina) - Bosnian Serb Gojko Jankovic, indicted by the Hague tribunal for war crimes committed against Muslims during the 1990s war in Bosnia, will voluntarily surrender to the UN court on Monday, the governments of Serbia and Bosnia's Serb entity said on Sunday.

The indictment against Jankovic was issued in 1999. The accused will go to The Hague accompanied by Republika Srpska Interior Minister Darko Matijasevic.

The Serbian government said in its press release that Jankovic's decision was moral, responsible and in the interest of Serbia and Montenegro. It added that the Serbian and Republika Srpska governments intensively cooperated in meeting their commitments to the Hague tribunal.

Jankovic is indicted for war crimes committed against the Muslim population in the Foca area, southeastern Bosnia-Herzegovina, from April 1992 to February 1993. At the time he was deputy commander of the Bosnian Serb military police.
