ZAGREB, March 18 (Hina) - Most citizens who have called Transparency International's (TI) anti-corruption counselling centre have complained about irregularities in the judiciary and the health sector, the leaders of the organisation's Croatian branch said on Friday.

Most calls came from Zagreb, Split-Dalmatia County and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, which does not mean those are the areas with the highest corruption rate but that locals are better acquainted with the work of the anti-corruption centre, TI leaders said.

Forty percent of the calls were about irregularities in the judiciary, while 15 percent were about corruption in the health sector.

TI leaders recalled the counselling centre project was launched last October and that since then cooperation had been achieved with many state administration bodies, notably ministries and state institutions.

The project's objective is to inform and educate citizens about corruption and offer advice about how they can exercise their rights, TI leaders said, adding that about 30 percent of the reported cases had been successfully dealt with.
