This will be Mesic's first trip to a foreign country in his new term in office.
The president will visit Brussels on March 1 and 2 and hold talks with King Albert II of Belgium and Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt.
Mesic will also meet the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, European Parliament President Josep Borrell Fontelles, the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana, and NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
Ahead of his trip to Brussels Mesic said his visit is aimed at informing the officials of efforts Croatia was making to join Euro-Atlantic associations.
