ZAGREB, March 18 (Hina) - The Croat member of Bosnia's collective state presidency, Dragan Covic, whom the state prosecution indicted for abuse of office and corruption in the case of "Lijanovici" meat producer, on Friday travelled to the Vatican, where he met the Holy See's State Secretary, Cardinal Angelo Sodano.

Covic and Sodano discussed the current situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Covic's office said in a statement.

Sodano said that the Holy See understood the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and wished that all citizens

may enjoy the same rights and protection of their rights.

Before Covic's departure for Rome, some Sarajevo media reported that by travelling to the Vatican Covic was trying to evade further pressure from international representatives who are trying to persuade him to resign after he was indicted by the Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

According to Dnevni Avaz daily, ambassadors of the EU Troika in Sarajevo on Thursday wanted to present an EU demarche to Covic urging his resignation.

The meeting was postponed because of Covic's visit to the Vatican, but the daily reports that the demarche would definitely be presented to Covic after he returns, in case he fails to resign of his own accord.
