Anto Djapic believes that Croatia should express dissatisfaction with this decision and concern over a policy of some EU member states that opposed the launching of the talks on 17 March which he accused of being led by their own narrow national interests.
Djapic thanked those countries which strongly supported Croatia in this process, adding that Zagreb should continue with preparations for the start of the entry talks and go on with reforms.
The HSP leader criticised the incumbent government blaming it for these developments and the country's difficult position.
He reiterated his party's stand that early elections should be called if entry talks were not launched by June.
Djapic suggested the strengthening of cooperation with the United States and other UN Security Council members as well as a strong diplomatic drive so as to solve the problem of the fugitive general Ante Gotovina.
He added that the Ivo Sanader cabinet lost its credibility when it had informed the public that the start of the entry talks was unconditional.
