The posters at the entrance to this town in the Sibenik hinterland and at its square were displayed by the local branch of the HVIDRA war veterans association. The branch leader, Nediljko Elez, said that they had done so as the sign of their support to the general whom they gave credit for the liberation of the Drnis area and for the establishment of the Republic of Croatia.
The police were present while war veterans were putting up the two posters, but they were not authorised to intervene as the photos were put on display at private land.
