More than 30 statesmen and senior officials from all over the world will attend the ceremony marking the opening of the 100-million-dollar building, which is to replace the existing museum that was founded in 1953.
The ceremony, which is held under the auspices of Israeli President Moshe Katsav, will be attended by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the presidents of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, Serbia and Montenegro, and Switzerland, the prime ministers of France, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Romania, and ministers from a dozen other countries.
During his visit, Mesic will meet Israeli President Moshe Katsav, Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres, and Justice Minister Joseph Tommy Lapid. On Thursday, the last days of his visit, Mesic will meet in Ramallah with the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Ahmed Qureia.
