"The competent bodies of the Croatian state should not have allowed assaults to be launched against journalists and guests from Serbia and Montenegro at Sunday's matches between 'Zagreb' and 'Partizan' handball teams and 'Cibona' and 'Hemofarm' basketball teams," the ministry said in a statement.
The statement also reads that an attack was launched against judges of the Serbian Supreme Court who were to take part in yesterday's round table discussion on judicial cooperation between western Balkan countries, which the European Union organised in Zagreb within the CARDS programme. After the attack on the van carrying the delegation from Serbia and Montenegro, in which Supreme Court judge Mira Grubic was injured, the delegation from Serbia and Montenegro cancelled their participation in the event, the Beta news agency reported.
The ministry also stated that "it is in the interest of the two countries to continue the trend of promotion of their cooperation".
