The European Language Portfolio for Adults was published by the Croatian Chamber of the Economy in English, French, German, Italian and Croatian. The purpose of the publication is to introduce the European Language Portfolio into language schools and create conditions for the adoption of EU standards for teaching foreign languages.
The publication is a document of the European Council which was drawn up by the European Association for Quality Language Services (EAQUALS) and the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE).
The portfolio enables employers to test the language competence of employees and can be used to determine language skills required for a specific job and staff training.
