ZAGREB, March 11 (Hina) - Draft laws by the government and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) proposing that mountainous regions and areas of special state interest indefinitely keep revenue from income and profit tax received full support in the parliament on Friday.

Under the existing law, municipalities and towns in mountainous regions and areas of special state interest can keep income and profit tax revenue until the end of July, but the government has decided to cancel that deadline and extend the privilege indefinitely.

Mountainous regions and areas of special state interest are still lagging behind other areas and they need financial assistance, the Minister of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development, Bozidar Kalmeta, said.

The debate about the two bills marked the end of this week's parliamentary sitting, which will continue next week.
