"Every data which Mrs. Stefanija Balog presented in connection with the financing of the presidential campaign was absolutely untrue," the HDZ said in a press release it issued on Saturday.
The only correct data, with what the public has already been acquainted, is that Kosor's campaign was financed only by the HDZ, the party said.
The party said that it was prompted by frequent imputations to reiterate that the financing of Kosor's campaign was "fully transparent and in compliance with law".
Mesic's election team on Friday again accused the election headquarters of the HDZ presidential candidate Kosor of presenting false data on the amount of money spent on her campaign, claiming that Kosor's campaign cost 30-35 million kuna instead of 6.4 million as reported to the State Election Commission (DIP).
"They spent at least 30-35 million kuna," the head of Mesic's election team, Stefanija Balog, said at a news conference yesterday.
Commenting on the financial statement of Kosor's election team, which read that Kosor's campaign cost 50,000 kuna less than Mesic's, Balog said this was an attempt to deceive citizens. Mesic's election headquarters reported having spent slightly less than 6.5 million kuna for the presidential campaign.
