"They spent at least 30-35 million kuna," the head of Mesic's election team, Stefanija Balog, said at a news conference.
Commenting on the financial statement of Kosor's election headquarters, which read that Kosor's campaign cost 50,000 kuna less than Mesic's, Balog said this was an attempt to deceive citizens.
Mesic's election headquarters reported having spent slightly less than 6.5 million kuna for the presidential campaign.
Asked whether she had evidence to support the accusations, Balog said that Kosor's team had posted at least eight times more billboards, that Mesic's TV clips were two times shorter and four to five times less frequently broadcast, and that Kosor's radio advertisements were twice as long as Mesic's.
Asked whether they would request an independent investigation to establish the exact amount of money spent for Kosor's campaign, Balog said that some agencies which she refused to name had already established that the cost of Kosor's campaign was two times higher than reported.
Balog also criticised the HDZ for failing to disclose their campaign donors.
