SARAJEVO, Feb 2 (Hina) - The president of the Constitutional Court ofBosnia-Herzegovina, Mato Tadic, was interviewed on Wednesday by aprosecutor of the department for organised and white collar crime andcorruption, Mats Wattson, who
is conducting an investigation into the"Lijanovici" meat factory, which is suspected of using politicalconnections to avoid the payment of customs duties and taxes on meatimports.
SARAJEVO, Feb 2 (Hina) - The president of the Constitutional Court of
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mato Tadic, was interviewed on Wednesday by a prosecutor
of the department for organised and white collar crime and corruption, Mats
Wattson, who is conducting an investigation into the "Lijanovici" meat factory,
which is suspected of using political connections to avoid the payment of
customs duties and taxes on meat imports.Tadic is suspected to taking bribes from the company to help cover up
the scandal and is considered to be a potential member of a criminal group with
which the prosecution links another two judges of the Supreme Court of the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Croat member of the Bosnian state
presidency, Dragan Covic.
Tadic's attorney Nikica Grzic told reporters in Sarajevo that his client
dismissed the accusations as absurd.
Grzic said that Tadic was suspected of taking bribes amounting to
200,000 euros.
Covic and the owners of the "Lijanovici" company have dismissed the
allegations of the department for organised crime and corruption, which is
headed by foreign prosecutors.
