Schook told a news conference, held after the first session of the commission for Bosnia's defence reform, that there were clear indicators that local politicians wanted to see their country in NATO, adding that now they must take tasks which this objective sets seriously.
The US generals said that as early as this week, NATO's team of advisors will be sent to the Bosnian Defence Ministry.
Some 15 NATO officers will held the implementation of the defence reforms which includes the establishment of a single chain of command and the strengthening of the single defence ministry at the state level.
Schook said that NATO officers would not issue any orders, but only help the Bosnian authorities to do what was necessary to achieve the set objectives.
Bosnian Defence Minister Nikola Radovanovic said that progress in the rationalisation of the country's defence system had been made.
