"(Mesic's) resolute and profound statement that I 'resort to nonsense' is a rare example of bad taste, primitivism and insolence," Seks said in a statement to Mesic.
"Mesic's claim that 'if Croatia were oriented to the work of people such as the president of parliament it would still be a small, isolated and morose country the world did not care about' faithfully reflects a man who doesn't distinguish between truth and lies and represents a glaring example of discrediting of the function of the president of the republic," read the statement.
"Communicating with the public this way, trying to be 'witty' by telling tasteless jokes and pretending to be a quack he has now long shown and proved himself unworthy of the post of president of the republic," Seks wrote, adding that Mesic understood "the right to silliness as a democratic right".
Visiting Jastrebarsko as part of his election campaign today, Mesic labelled as nonsensical Seks' statement of yesterday that if Mesic were to submit a report on his five-year term of office it would be a "blank paper". Mesic said that if it were not for his work Croatia would be an isolated country today.
