ZAGREB, Dec 29 (Hina) - In 2005 the government will continue to work
towards its most important goal - improving the living standards of its
citizens, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said on Wednesday, wishing all the best to
Croatian citizens for New Year.Speaking at this year's last government session, Sanader said his
government had achieved a number of results on the macroeconomic plan in
2004.
"We have managed to reverse trends which had been negative for years,
for example as regards employment," the PM said, adding that 20,000 new jobs
had been created this year.
The government will do its utmost to see further improvement of
macroeconomic trends, curb the foreign debt growth and reduce deficits and
unemployment, Sanader said.
