Croatian abstract painter Edo Murtic dies at 83

ZAGREB, Jan 2 (Hina) - Prominent Croatian abstract painter Edo Murtic died in a Zagreb hospital on Sunday evening after a long and serious illness. He was 83.

Murtic held his first exhibition in Zagreb in 1935. He had about 150 one-man exhibitions and featured in about 300 group exhibitions.

Murtic was a member of the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences.
