As a result of pressure the Italian Union and the Federation of Esuli have exerted on all Italian political parties, the implementation of the Italian law on the financing of Italian national minorities in Croatia and Slovenia and the Federation of Esuli was extended for another three years, said Maurizio Tremul.
Italy will allocate a total of 6.2 million euros per year for the Italian Union, the umbrella organisation of Italians in Croatia and Slovenia, and the Federation of Esuli which gathers Italians who moved from the Croatian and Slovene Adriatic regions to Italy after the end of the Second World War.
Furio Radin also expressed satisfaction with the fact that funds from the Croatian budget for next year rose by 18 percent.
This created foundations for a better protection of national minorities in Croatia, Radin said.
