ZAGREB/BRUSSELS, Dec 18 (Hina) - Gross Domestic Product per capita expressed in terms of purchasing power standards was 48 percent of the European Union average in Croatia, while in the 25-member European Union it ranged from 48
percent to 251 percent of the average in 2005, Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, reported on Monday.

expressed in terms of purchasing power standards was 48 percent of the
European Union average in Croatia, while in the 25-member European Union it
ranged from 48 percent to 251 percent of the average in 2005, Eurostat, the
Statistical Office of the European Communities, reported on Monday.
In comparison to figures from 2003 and 2004, Croatia's GDP per capita in
purchasing power standards (PPS) has been gradually rising. In 2003, it
accounted for 46 percent of the EU average, and in 2004, it came to 47 percent
of the EU average.
In 2005, Romania and Bulgaria, which will enter the Union on 1 January
2007, had 34 percent and 33 percent respectively of the EU average GDP.
According to Eurostat, GDP per capita in Luxembourg was more than twice
the EU25 average in 2005.
