Exports up USD1.2 billion, imports 2.2 billion

ZAGREB, Dec 13 (Hina) - Figures on Croatia's foreign trade in the first ten months of 2006 show that the pace of export growth (17.3 percent), has exceeded the pace of import growth (14.5 percent). The growth of trade deficit amounted to 12.1 percent.
ZAGREB, Dec 13 (Hina) - Figures on Croatia's foreign trade in the first ten months of 2006 show that the pace of export growth (17.3 percent), has exceeded the pace of import growth (14.5 percent). The growth of trade deficit amounted to 12.1 percent.

The export-import ratio is 47.2 percent.

Exports rose by 1.2 billion U.S. dollars, while imports went up by 2.2 billion in relation to the same period the year before.

The overall value of Croatia's exports in the period between January and October 2006 amounted to 8.38 billion dollars. In the same period Croatia imported 17.7 billion dollars of goods, according to figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

Croatia's trade exchange deficit in this year's first ten months exceeded 9.3 billion dollars, which is one billion more than in the same period in 2005.
