The export growth rate in the first ten months of 2006 was 17.3 per cent, while the import growth rate reached 14.5 per cent. Exports increased by USD1.2 billion and imports by 2.2 billion compared to the same period last year.
The trade deficit went up 12.1 per cent, exceeding USD9.3 billion. The export-import ratio was 47.2 per cent.
Viewed in the domestic currency, the kuna, exports amounted to KN49.2 billion, up 16.8 per cent, while imports rose 13.9 per cent to KN104.1 billion.
