ZAGREB, Nov 19 (Hina) - Croatia shall be allowed to add 3.5 Mt CO2 equivalent to its 1990 level greenhouse gas emissions, it was decided at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, held in Nairobi on November 6-17.

These changes will enable Croatia to ratify the Kyoto Protocol, the UN Climate Change Convention, signed in 1999. after nearly three years of lobbying, Croatia request for an equal status as other Kyoto Protocol signatories was granted, namely the Un recognised the specific circumstances of Croatia with regard to greenhouse emissions before and after 1990 and the structure of if the electricity generation sector of the former Yugoslavia.
