Osijek judge asks for combined medical examination of Glavas

OSIJEK, Dec 5 (Hina) - Osijek County Court Investigating judge Mario Kovac on Tuesday asked an internist and a psychiatrist to examine Branimir Glavas and to notify the court of his condition in three days' time.
OSIJEK, Dec 5 (Hina) - Osijek County Court Investigating judge Mario Kovac on Tuesday asked an internist and a psychiatrist to examine Branimir Glavas and to notify the court of his condition in three days' time.

According to a press release issued by the court spokesman, the investigating judge requested court experts, internist Aleksandar Vcev, and psychiatrist Pavo Filakovic to examine Glavas, who is being treated in the Osijek hospital's intensive care ward after he was released this weekend from the prison hospital in Zagreb where he had been on hunger strike for 37 day.

Glavas was released according to a decision of an investigating judge in Zagreb who led a probe into allegations that this independent member of parliament ordered the torture and murder of Osijek Serbs in late 1991, i.e. in the so-called Garage Case.

The Osijek investigating judge is investigating allegations on Glavas's involvement into the killing of civilians near the Drava River in Osijek (the Sellotape Case).

After the Zagreb judge's decision on Glavas's release and the suspension of the investigation due to the suspect's deteriorated health, the defence team asked the Osijek Court to suspend the probe into the Sellotape Case for the same reasons.
