OSIJEK, Dec 4 (Hina) - Osijek County Court investigating judge
Mario Kovac will decide about a request filed on Monday by attorneys
representing independent MP Branimir Glavas that the court discontinue an
investigation into Glavas in the so-called Sellotape war crimes case when the
Zagreb County Court decides about an appeal lodged by the Zagreb County
Prosecutor in the so-called garage case. Judge Kovac will request an
opinion from relevant bodies about Glavas's medical condition and an opinion
about his fitness to stand trial, said Osijek County Court vice president and
spokesman Miroslav Rozac.
Zagreb County Court investigating judge Zdenko Posavec on Saturday
suspended an investigation against Glavas in the garage case due to his grave
medical condition after 37 days of hunger strike while detained in Zagreb. Upon
release Glavas was transferred to a hospital in the eastern city of Osijek.
The Zagreb County Prosecutor appealed the suspension and Glavas's release.
Glavas's attorney Marko Dumancic today requested judge Kovac to
discontinue the investigation against Glavas in the Sellotape case. Both cases
refer to war crimes committed against civilians in late 1991.
