Hunger-striking Radical leader urges his party not to abandon concept of Greater Serbia

BELGRADE, Dec 3 (Hina) - Hague war crimes indictee Vojislav Seselj, who has been on a hunger strike since November 10 in the tribunal's detention unit, has urged his Serb Radical Party (SRS) in a political testament never to abandon "the strong national ideology and concept of the Greater Serbia".

The political testament of the Serbian Radical leader was read out at a news conference on Sunday by party official Zoran Krasic.

Seselj says in the document that the Radicals should strongly oppose globalisation and Serbia's integration with NATO and the European Union, which he says comprise all of Serbia's enemies, and that they should advocate Serbia's integration with Russia and all East European Orthodox countries, as well as its friendship with China, India, and Arab, African and Latin American countries opposing US influence.

He also urges permanent opposition to Kosovo's secession, saying that in case it occurred, Serbia should sever diplomatic relations with all countries which recognise Kosovo's independence.

Another party official, Gordana Pop Lazic, said that Seselj would discontinue his hunger strike only if the tribunal met his demands, including the right to conduct his own defence and the request that the trial start anew with another panel of judges.
